BALCO Plant Reliving Chimney Tragedy! Substandard Materials Used for Construction Under CEO’s Supervision; Massive Corruption Exposed

Old, banned materials being reused in new construction inside BALCO premises. Safety rules openly ignored. Sources claim crores worth of corruption involving contractor RKTC, senior officers, and silent approval from top management.

Korba: The ongoing construction work inside the BALCO plant premises has once again come under serious questions. According to reliable sources, substandard and previously banned materials are reportedly being used for the construction.

It is being said that the work is being carried out by contractor company RKTC, with suspected silent approval and supervision from senior plant officials and even the BALCO CEO.

Sources reveal that the same low-quality materials, which were blamed for the tragic chimney collapse in 2009 — where several workers lost their lives — are now being reused in the current construction. At that time too, poor quality materials were considered a major reason behind the accident.

Now, once again, those same unsafe materials are allegedly being used inside the plant. Old, worn-out materials are being reused and shown as part of new construction. This is not only a clear violation of safety standards but also a risk for a possible major accident in the future.

Insiders claim that this entire construction project is linked to a multi-crore corruption racket involving contractors, officials, and top management — where plant safety and construction quality are being compromised for financial benefits.

The most serious allegation is that this construction work is happening under the direct supervision of BALCO’s CEO, yet no strict action or corrective measures have been taken so far.

If concerned authorities do not intervene in time, this illegal and dangerous construction might lead to another disaster in the future. There’s an urgent need for a high-level inquiry into this matter and strict action against the responsible officers, contractor, and even the CEO.
